'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' sets U.K. box office record




The U.S. isn't the only place where The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has been setting records. According to Business Financial News, the United Kingdom's Twilight series distributor Entertainment One (E1 Entertainment) reported a record-breaking 13.8 million pound intake from is July 9th release.

"It said 'Eclipse' exceeded the opening of its predecessor, 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon', which achieved £11.7m."
The site also reports that Canada's Eclipse sales put it among the top films of the year's box office already. (Note: Canada released Eclipse on June 30th, like the U.S.)
This adds to the records which Eclipse has set in the U.S. of biggest Wednesday opening, midnight release, and number of theaters for the debut.
International and domestic sales have put Eclipse near the half billion mark already, less than two weeks after its release.
