Did you catch these 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' goofs?

Just about every movie in existence has a continuity error here or a visible filming equipment blunder there. It's common and practically unavoidable, and to most, it's really not a big deal. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - great as it was - is no exception.

Moviemistakes.com users have begun critiquing some of the goofs that exist in the film, and it seems that there are quite a few noticeable blunders in Eclipse . . . though none will quite live up to Gil Birmingham (who portrayed the wheelchair-bound "Billy Black") driving the truck or the very visible make-up lines in Twilight.
Including those noticed by the site as well as my own observations, here are some of the most interesting slip-ups caught in Eclipse so far (which, if nothing else, will give you something to look for the next time you see it again).

"Aro"/"Arrow": Remember the "Volturi Featurette"? If not, here it is. Upon watching it, you'll notice that "Felix" (portrayed in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse by Daniel Cudmore) says "Aro" with the pronunciation "Ah-ro" in this video. In the film, however, it's pronounced as "arrow." When I asked Daniel Cudmore about this mix-up at the Eclipse premiere, he chalked it up to "difference of opinions in directors . . . each director wants it a different way."

"Jasper Hale" at lunch, graduation: First of all, "Jasper" was no longer in school in the events of Eclipse (the book). He, "Rosalie," and "Emmett" had all graduated by this point. The fact that he was a part of lunchroom events in the film has been received by some commentators as a continuity effort: since he was on the biology field trip with the group in Twilight, he'd been grouped with those characters in age and bringing him back with the same group in New Moon and Eclipse made sense in that regard. Also, there are probably a good list of reasons why "Jasper Hale" (Jackson Rathbone) and "Alice Cullen" (Ashley Greene) were seated next to each other at the Forks High School graduation ceremony in Eclipse (i.e., this offers a flash at their romantic bond, makes the number of shots needed in this scene lesser) but this is a mistake as well since their last names are quite spread apart, alphabetically.
"Edward's" earlobe, skin: In most of the meadow sequences, there is a lot of lip-locking between "Bella" (Kristen Stewart) and "Edward" (Robert Pattinson). This is no blunder, to be sure, but there are at least two flaws which can be found in these moments, and they involve an earlobe and some sparkle-less skin. In one moment, "Bella" reaches over and places her hand on "Edward's" face. In doing so, she brushes by his earlobe and it moves (folds in a little bit). In the Twilight series' mythology, the vampires' hair is about the only involuntarily mobile thing, but vampires like "Edward" can choose to move around. In other words, the only way that any part of their body can be moved - particularly by a human character - is if they move it themselves. An earlobe, at least not usually, isn't the type of appendage that people (or, presumably, vampires) cannot move from internal force, so the fact that she brushed it and it folded in means there was a slight oversight (or that the kiss was too steamy to edit it out!). Also, as pointed out by users on MovieMistakes, there is a point in the final meadow sequence when the sun is clearly out but "Edward" is not sparkling.
"Hungryward": In the first scene featuring "Jacob Black" (Taylor Lautner), "Bella" and "Edward" drive into the school's parking lot, and he speaks to her about not getting out of the car. At this time, his eyes are golden. Later in the day, after "Bella" takes off to go on a ride with "Jacob" to La Push, he comes to her house and has furiously black eyes. Some, in discussions, have argued that this was a bit of homage to his sudden, furious worry over her leaving, but when it is discovered that an intruder ("Riley," Xavier Samuel) has been in the home, they return to the "Cullen" house to discuss it with his family . . . and all of their eyes are just as black, revealed to be a result of their hunger. This sudden transition would mean that "Edward" had not been starving until that day, which is unlikely given the status of his family and the way that Twilight lore indicates hunger's effect on the color of their eyes to be gradual.

Cuts, bitemarks, and dismembered heads: There are a couple of continuity errors associated with the location or placement of things in the film, of course, but these are a little more interesting than most. First of all, the bite that "James" inflicted on "Bella" hasn't been in the same place throughout the entire Saga, so it's probably no surprise that in Eclipse, the bite isn't where it was made in the first film. Additionally, the cut that she inflicts upon herself at the end of the film was on her middle arm, but "Edward" reportedly goes to bandage it up near the wrist. Finally, one MovieMistakes contributor points out that "Victoria's" head, when lying on the ground, has its eyes open at one point and closed in another shot.
Purple fire: No "purple-black smoke" was used in the film, though the book states that this is what is produced upon burning the newborn vampires from the army. The same was true in Twilight with the destruction of "James."
There are probably more (hair movements, clothing changes, visible equipment shots), but these are among the most interesting quirks about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Do you have any to add from your own viewing(s)?

Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series books will be going white for Christmas this year!!

It seems that Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series books will be going white for Christmas this year.

According to The Bookseller, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn will all be re-released in white this October by Atom in the U.K. and Ireland and by Little, Brown Books in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and India. (Unfortunately, this means those of us in the U.S. will not have a chance to buy the white editions of the Saga.)
"The white titles will only be published between October and Christmas 2010, replacing the usual black jackets. The titles will have crimson-edged pages and crimson back covers, with text confined to the spines," the site reports.
The site also issued this preview picture of Twilight and New Moon as transformed for this special holiday edition. Looks pretty nice, right?
The Bookseller also has details on a box set of the four Twilight series books (plus the Bree Tanner novella) as well as the paperback edition of Breaking Dawn in these locations here.

'The Cullen family is large, the wolf family is large, you have three leads,' Melissa Rosenberg tells MTV News of her challenging writing process.

As all die-hard "Twilight" fans know, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is still hard at work on finalizing the scripts for the two-part "Breaking Dawn" finale, the first of which is scheduled to begin shooting in November. MTV News was lucky enough to catch up with the "Dexter" and "Twilight" screenwriter at San Diego Comic-Con, where she held court on a "Girls Gone Genre" panel. And while she still won't reveal where the two films will break, she did give us a few details about the birthing scene and the "Book of Jacob," as well as some dish on how she plans to handle all of the new characters Stephenie Meyer introduces in "Dawn."

"It's extremely challenging to introduce those new characters because you already have quite a slew of characters to service," Rosenberg admitted of Meyer's final book. "The Cullen family is large, the wolf family is large, you have three leads ... finding room for all of them is a challenge. For me, it is about pulling forward the ones that are essential and really making sure they have a presence."

Naturally, Rosenberg didn't say specifically which characters would or would not appear in the films, but simply that she hopes "all of them will be there in one shape or another."

Fans interested in checking in more frequently with Rosenberg's "Dawn" progress can check out her Facebook page, which Rosenberg told us she checks regularly to see what Twi-hards are saying and involve them in plotline discussions.

"I ask people to really weigh in with what are their favorite scenes in the books, what's important to them," Rosenberg said. "And there generally seems to be a consensus about one scene or another. It's really helpful for me and I'll interact with them sometimes."
She added that the fan interaction has helped her to squash any out-of-control Internet-generated rumors about her "Dawn" scripts. "At one point, [the fans] were upset because they had gotten the impression that I was choosing not to put the birthing scene in the script, and I was able to go online and say, 'I don't know where that idea came from, but of course the birthing scene is going to be in.' " Another Net-generated rumor, according to Rosenberg, is that she won't include the Book of Jacob in the final film. "I don't know where that idea came from, but that is not true," she confirmed. "We are going to see Jacob's perspective equally, so don't worry."

Are you concerned about how Melissa Rosenberg will handle the birthing scene or the Book of Jacob? Tell us in the comments.

Vampire Bill on Robert Pattinson in the Twilight Saga role as Edward

The actor shot to fame in 2008 playing vampire Bill Compton in popular American television show True Blood. He is now 40 and insists he is happy it took a while for his career to take off.

Stephen is often asked if he feels any rivalry with the stars of Twilight but the British star is adamant he doesn’t envy Robert Pattinson, who plays brooding Edward Cullen in the hit Hollywood vampire franchise. Robert, 24, regularly admits his life has changed since he landed the role and often finds it unbearable living in the public spotlight.
“Listen, if I were a teenage girl I’d want to f**k Robert Pattinson!” Stephen joked in an interview with the British edition of GQ magazine. “I would have been floating upside down in a canal if I was Pattinson’s age. I wouldn’t have made it. I wish him the best of luck with that.”
The hunk went on to reveal he never planned to try and make it in America as he was happy doing theatre work in the UK. However, he was so impressed after reading the script for True Blood he decided he had to audition for the role.
“Theatre was always my passion,” Stephen explained. “I never wanted to do film or television, and I had kind of decided not to go to America before True Blood landed on my agent’s desk. But I was convinced to read it, begrudgingly. By lunch time the next day, I was on a plane to LA.”

Breaking Dawn Pt. 2 to Be Released a Full Year After Pt. 1

After releasing both “Twilight” and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” in November of 2008 and 2009, Summit made the seemingly smart move of moving “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” to a June 30, 2010 release date. This was because of both fervent interest from the franchise’s fanbase and the expectation that opening in the summer would allow for a larger gross due to the fact many teenagers would be out of school and able to see the film numerous times during the work week. Instead, “Eclipse” has grossed less than the previous chapter, “New Moon,” with only $288.1 million domestic and a total of $644.8 million worldwide so far. “New Moon” ended up with $296 million domestic and $709 million worldwide and it’s hard to see “Eclipse” matching that total as its grosses have slowed considerably. Considering “Eclipse” received universally better reviews than the previous two chapters and was the most action packed (i.e., male friendly) of the series this has to be something of a disappointment for Summit. Granted, there is no need to shed any tears as the studio and series creator Stephenie Meyer are still swimming in profits as the picture only cost $65 million.

In hindsight, however, the shouldn’t have come as that much of a shock even if it seems to go against conventional wisdom. The “Harry Potter” series has also released a number of chapters during the summer months and found mixed results. After the first two installments debuted in Nov. of 2001 and 2002 respectively, 2004′s “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” debuted in June and is actually the worst performing picture in the franchise with just $249.4 million. “The Order of the Phoenix” and “The Half-Blood Prince” have performed much better with their July releases, but some of that can be credited to increased ticket prices as well as IMAX ticket costs. It’s somewhat telling “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Pt. 1″ will open in Nov. of this year.
As for “Breaking Dawn,” production is expected to begin this Nov. with shooting split between Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Vancouver, British Colubmia. Oscar winner Bill Condon is at the helm and the entire cast will return including the trifecta of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
