Entertainment Weekly Interview snippet

Entertainment Weekly sat down with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner for an interview for the edition this week to discuss the world they inhabit the Twilight universe, onscreen and off. In this prior, the stars talk about the media spotlight and how his meddling Stewart did recently, compare that to a rape - a comment for which she has since apologized.

EW: Do you feel more at peace about being in the spotlight these days?
Stewart: I feel more comfortable, myself, and I feel less naked. I feel much more like no one could take anything from me. Before, I literally felt as if my chest had been opened and people could access and analyze anything they wanted, and it terrified me.
EW: You recently received a lot of criticism for comparing the intrusion of the paparazzi to rape. The comment disproportionately spread very quickly and you apologized.
Stewart: I'm very sensitive about such things. This is a subject that means a lot to me. I did a movie directly related to it (The silence of Melinda), and I did another one where my character has a history of rape horrible (Welcome to the Rileys). I talked to many people about it. I used the wrong word. I should have said "violated". But I'm young and emotional. It's the way things happen sometimes. I probably should not say this, but I feel that people were excited when they saw it was me. It was like, 'Cool! Let's get her! "And then for the people operating it under the guise of being morally repugnant is disgusting - and it made me uncomfortable, because I ended up taking part.
EW: You saw it all unfold and then thought, I have to make an apology?
Stewart: No, I was in Korea when things got ugly. My advisor called me and said RAINN had issued this statement terrible.
Pattinson: Who Is RAINN?
Stewart: You know, the National Network of Rape, Abuse and Incest
Pattinson: No such associations came out and gave a statement (criticizing Kristen) without first being tried by the media - who were doing it just to get more hits on their websites. This entire system of journalism online, where nobody is called to account, is almost entirely on hatred. All these people get away with doing this because they have no accountability to anyone. All they need is to make a headline and lascivious people click because it is easy. And it's too good to be part of these movies Twilight, because you have to give so many interviews all the time, you can defend yourself. This is the only way. We all stand together, too. There are so many nerds behind their computers in their blogs.
Stewart: Look, if I say that? Crucifixion. You can tell a lot more than me. It's crazy.
Pattinson: That's not true. When I say something (controversial)?
Stewart: You're really good, but you could say: "I just played f ... in the face of the queen, "and people would say"Oh, I love it! I love you! "
